You know it’s a new season when my nail polish color choice changes. For fall and winter, I rarely stray from a great deep red. Burgundy, red wine, merlot, whatever you want to call it, I’ll wear it. And recently I got this new Olive & June color called “obsessed” and well, I’m obsessed. It’s truly my favorite kind of holiday red to wear.

Olive & June has quickly become my go-to nail polish brand to use. I still use my Essie Stay Strong base coat as I swear by it. It has the same healthy nail technology as the Treat Love Color Collection that kept my nails from splitting. And for a topcoat, you’d have to pry the Essie Gel Couture top coat from my freshly painted cold dead hands because it is simply the best. As someone who paints their nails just about every week at home, I like to think I’m a bit of an expert on polishes. And this combination is what I swear by. You can also get $10 off your $50 order at Olive & June by clicking here.

Since it’s also the holidays, now is a great time to add a little sparkle to your polish too. I love these ideas of adding something fun to your go to manicure hue. From a little outline around the cuticles to a bit of ombre shimmer. I think I’m going to be trying this out soon.

A Touch Of Sparkle

Line your nails with a little bit of sparkle. You can easily do this with a wooden dowel or toothpick. It adds a hint of sparkle that isn’t too much. This is especially nice if you’re not really a big glitter person like myself!

Ombre Glitter

Ombre is always a fun trend in so many things right now. Ombre tie dye, ombre hair, and even nails. But adding a little ombre glitter to your polish is a fun way to spruce up your manicure. Just add a bit to the tip of your nail and drag it slightly backward with a light touch. This will keep it from being too glittery and maintain that ombre look.

Ombre Colors

It’s been ages since I did a different color on each nail, but this mani has me inspired to finally jump in. I love the one glitter nail that adds something sparkly and fun to it.
