This post brought to you in partnership with Nordstrom and ShopStyle. All opinions are 110% my own!
Hiii from Quebec City! Neal and I are here for our Christmas present trip and both looking forward to a couple days off and the chance to soak up a brand new city! It is FREEZING but so beautiful and charming!
Speaking of freezing, I’m teaming up with Nordstrom again for today’s post highlighting some great cold-weather must-haves! You remember my favorite PJ’s + Loungewear review? This time, I’m focusing on great cozy staples that’ll last you through even the longest snowmageddon. (Which, in Chicago, that basically means until Spring Break–YAYYYY.)
If I had to pick ONE one-stop shop for winter shopping, it would be Nordstrom. They have everything you could need at every price point (their own brands–Halogen, BP, Treasure and Bond, in particular, are my favorites for quality and price! Sharing more of those favorites today!) and they make your shopping as easy as possible.
Whether you need something last minute for your weekend cabin getaway this weekend, a last-minute holiday party, or your approaching gift exchange, they have free shipping, curbside pickup, and depending on where you live––even same-day delivery!
They also price match, so you can always be sure you’re getting the best deal, AND if you see anything cheaper in hindsight–you can call and they will price-adjust for you! Truly, they cannot be beat. I also highly recommend joining their rewards program (The Nordy Club!) because you earn points you can redeem on your next purchase with every order!
Today’s Featured Staples:
Halogen Fuzzy V-Neck sweater:
This fuzzy sweater from Halogen (one of my favorite Nordstrom brands!) is now on sale–it comes in so many colors! Runs TTS. (I’m wearing a small!) I also love that this is stretchy so it’s easy to tie up to wear over dresses, with skirts, etc! It is SO. INSANELY. SOFT. And adds a fun textural element to any outfit! **This just got marked down and is going VERY fast!**
Halogen Fuzzy Turtleneck:
Same sweater as above, but in a turtleneck version, if that’s more your style!
I’ve had this coat for a couple months now and have gotten so much wear out of it. I think we’re all guilty of having a lot of *pretty* coats that aren’t necessarily *warm* and this one is definitely both. It’s stunning–and I love the extra-long length, because it not only adds warmth but is long enough to wear with midi skirts, long cardigans, etc, without looking funny!
Cole Haan GrandPro Boots:
I know, I know. You’re like “JESS” I’m not wearing cream snow boots. Those are just asking to get ruined–but they’re waterproof! I have worn them several times in the straight up MUD and they clean right off! Good as new! Seriously–I even left mud caked on them for 5 days before wiping them off, and they look brand now with some hot water and a shot of stain remover. They’re really warm and insanely comfortable. I call these “everyday” snow boots because they aren’t so bulky that you’ll have trouble walking in them. They’re easy enough to wear every day (even if there isn’t snow on the ground).
Madewell Transport Tote: 25% off!
My longtime favorite everyday tote. I have this in two colors (but I use the zip-top more! I wish I had that one in both colors!) It’s price-matched at Nordstrom right now, so it’s 25% off! Yet another reason to love Nordy’s–they always honor price matching, so you can always make sure you’re getting the best price out there! This tote makes an amazing gift for any gal (or yourself!)
More Favorites + Gift Ideas:
B.P. Cozy Hat + Scarf Set: (Only $39!)
BP has an awesome section of affordable scarves and hat + scarf sets! Such a great thing to bring to your girls’ gift exchange! This comes in a black version, but I love the blush version in particular!
BP Pajama Set:
I feel like these BP pajamas are the BEST hidden gem. (Of course, there are also the Moonlight pajamas, which are my everyday obsession, but EVERYONE knows about those!!) However, it seems like everyone is sleeping on this baby-soft set from BP! I reviewed them in this post, but they’re still FULLY stocked, even in this adorable striped color! Go get ’em for your whole fam! Run TTS!
Nordstrom Scuff Slippers:
If you’re looking for a great pair of inexpensive slippers for a gift or for yourself–these are the ones I have been LIVING in. They’re so soft and cushiony–they feel like a cloud! You can’t beat the price, either!
Caslon Eyelash Sweater:
Nearly identical to a sweater I got three years ago (the one I’m wearing above with the hat and scarf set) and still love wearing! I love the subtle cableknit, mock neck, and the fuzzy texture! It’s easy to dress up or down! Caslon is another Nordstrom brand that makes excellent cozy and comfy essentials!
Treasure + Bond Slouchy Sweater:
I picked this sweater from Treasure and Bond up at the end of last week because you guys have been asking for more sweater recommendations that you can wear with leggings–I.E–something with longer coverage in the back! This sweater is SO. SOFT. It’s easy to front tuck too so you can wear it a bunch of different ways. Definitely a great basic to have on hand this winter! Stay tuned for a full review but in short––two thumbs up!
The “it really is that good” blanket
Remember when we were all talking about hyped-up stuff you always see bloggers tauting and why? When I was in store last week I passed a display of these and laughed to myself because this is one of those things you see on like, EVERY gift guide. But I have to say, I stopped and petted (for lack of a better word) all of them and they truly are amazing blankets. I think the best part of them (aside from the cute and cozy factor) is the price point. At $39, they’re a great gift for gift exchanges, hostess gifts, etc––something that anyone would love to open that you can have on hand!
Don’t be fooled by the photo 😂this is a normal looking bodysuit that you don’t have to unbutton down to your belly button. It’s SO CUTE. When I put it on Neal was like “OMG. Where did you get that and why don’t you wear that all the time?” This is coming with me to Quebec City this weekend. It’s a great base layer to keep you warm (and has a snap closure, for easy bathroom breaks. 😜) Sizing: Runs TTS. I went with Small! **It’s selling fast, so grab it if you’ve been eyeing it!!**
Knee-High Butter Socks
I KNOW. I KNOW. Dead horse beaten. I won’t shut up about these socks. But they’re that good–REALLY. Nordstrom knows how to make them, you guys, I wouldn’t lie about this. I have their regular version, but just got the Rach Parcel edition knee socks and they are the perfect thing to wear with boots. (Actually, I’m wearing them with my Hunters as we speak!)
