The Kicks: Staud x New Balance 327 sneakers ($150)
Release Date: Sept. 24, 2020
Why We Love Them: After its successful first collab with fashion-girl-favorite brand Staud, New Balance is back for another round. Designer Sarah Staudinger released her second drop with the sportswear brand, and we can’t get enough of the collection’s minimalist sneakers.
“For Fall 2020, we asked ourselves what the classic, chic version of our playful, rainbow Spring season would be, while keeping the artful, esoteric design details that lie at the heart of our brand,” Sarah said in a press release. “The answer was a version of our signature ponte styles combined with NB Sleek for high-performance wear, made transitional for all aspects of life.”
The collection includes an oversize track fleece tunic, a bright blue biker short and cropped tee set, and a monochromatic long-sleeved crop top with ankle-length leggings. The star of the show is Staud’s version of New Balance’s classic 327 sneaker. The sneaker silhouette is a nod to the ’70s but with a sleeker finish. We love that instead of the bright hues from the past sneaker collab, this one feels more timely for fall with its gorgeous burgundy and white color scheme. The muted colors also allow us to pair the sneakers with anything in our closet. Think of them as a neutral, which is a major win in our eyes.
The gorgeous campaign images include track and field Olympian and world champion Sydney McLaughlin and fellow world champion Kendall Ellis. If you’re hoping to snag a pair before they sell out, mark your calendars for Sept. 24. The $150 sneakers will be available on both Staud’s and New Balance’s websites.
